Being part of the Student Senior Leadership Team (SSLT) is the most senior responsibility in the school. In the summer term, year ten students are invited to apply for a position and are then interviewed and nominated by staff for these prestigious positions.
The team are easily identified by a white shirt and have a high profile around school, meeting and greeting visitors at school events and welcoming students into assemblies. They meet with our Student Engagement Lead on a regular basis and discuss their role and progress. Their roles provide a wide variety of opportunities for ‘student voice’ where they regularly feedback to members of the Senior Leadership and Student Services. Each member of the team co-ordinates a different aspect of their action plan and plays a vital role in leading their vision for the school. The team also plays a lead role in Prenton Parliament and oversees the successful running of this group.
This year, Phoebe is our Head Girl and Lucy is our Deputy Head Girl.
Phoebe said: “This is an amazing opportunity and a great way to support other students. I am looking forward to visiting local primary schools next year to tell them all about our school as part of my role.”
Lucy added: “It is an honour to have been chosen as Deputy Head Girl and I am glad to be working closely with other students.”
