Thanks to Lucy, Demi and Len from The Brook, thirty-two of our Year 8 students took part in a series of three-hour bite-size workshops.
The Brook, who encourage healthy lives for young people, were invited into school by Miss Dunbar, Student Support. This follows a survey conducted last term in which students expressed an interest in finding out more about a range of issues that affect teenagers today. The workshop investigated developing a healthy body image, body confidence, liking yourself – who you are, what you look like – recognizing one’s skills and qualities, and learning not to judge yourself or others purely on the way we look. Finally, they looked at resilience, and coping with life’s problems and ups and downs.
Thank you Brook for some really useful sessions!
