Wellbeing: Support for Students and Their Families

Although the majority of our students are currently learning at home, our Student Services team is continuing to offer support throughout the school week.

In addition to the support that we provide as a school, we wanted to remind parents / guardians and students about some of the other support available from external organisations.

Parents and Guardians

Action for Children has lots of free advice for parents and carers as well as a live chat function on their website.

To access lots of advice on topics including:

  • Setting boundaries
  • Budgeting
  • Relationship struggles and separation 
  • Managing child arrangements 
  • Talking to teenagers
  • Setting house rules

The Build Strong Minds campaign aims to improve young people’s emotional wellbeing. Action for Children offer advice to parents and carers on how to support their children and also look after themselves. Here is the link to more information: https://minds.actionforchildren.org.uk/

Students

Counselling

Our Student Services team, works in partnership with Action for Children and can arrange for you to access confidential counselling and support with them. Someone will listen to your thoughts and feelings and help you to express and explore them. Brook

Brook focuses on educating and supporting young people to lead healthy lives. Students can still access free and confidential advice on relationships, wellbeing and sexual health from Brook by calling 0151 670 0177 and selecting option 3.
