School Productions

Taking part in concerts and drama productions helps promote students’ self-confidence and we have many ‘platforms’ in which each student can choose to perform. It may be playing a musical instrument as a soloist or part of the school orchestra, dancing, singing, public speaking or singing with others in the choir. There is also opportunity to perform at the start of our daily year group assemblies.

Each autumn our Prenton Theatre Company present a show to parents, carers and their friends and families. Later in the term everyone has the chance to audition and perform in ‘Prenton’s Got Talent’ with the finals held in March. Rehearsals for the Summer Spectacular start in the spring term and they are open to students from every year group. Their dedication and professional approach to these shows always makes us very proud – as well as giving parents, friends and families the chance to see some wonderful entertainment!

The Prenton Theatre Company, established in October 2015, helps foster creativity, ambition, confidence and a love for theatre through staging two major productions each year. Students from all years work together to produce stunning, live, performances in front of their peers, families and guests. Taking on responsible roles such as: lighting and sound technicians, stage hands, co-directors, audience warm-up, dancers and choreographers, band performers – not forgetting our lead and many support actors – the Company members work with, and encourage, each other – just like a professional troupe.  This forms and develops new relationships across year groups which, in turn, helps our girls to become more confident and be part of our integrated community here at Prenton High School for Girls.
