Rising to the Maths challenges

The UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) advances the education of young people in mathematics and their Junior Challenge is the UK’s most popular mathematics competition.

Over 300,000 students take part each year with the top-scoring 40% receiving either bronze, silver or gold certificates. Around 8,000 high performers go on to take part in the Junior Kangaroo.

Our thirty Year 7 and 8 students worked hard to impress – many congratulations to Year 7 student Holly, who received a Gold certificate and the Best in School award. Holly’s efforts meant that she qualified for the Junior Kangaroo Challenge, in which she again did well.

Well done to Year 8 students Gabrielle, Evie, and Amy, who all received Silver certificates and to Bronze certificate holders – Alicia, Olivia, Eloise and Shamara, all Year 8, and to Melanie and Erin from Year 7.

Congratulations also go to our Intermediate Challenge students: Emma who gained Silver and Best in Year, Elissa and Abbey who gained Bronze (all Year 10) and to Keira and Isabelle from Year 9 who were joint Best in Year.
