Their usual curriculum subjects of Maths, Science and English, was replaced by learning more about Brain Power as Year 10 students prepared for the coming academic year with a Revision and Study Skills Day.
A series of sessions delivered by staff over the morning covered Revision techniques, Managing Stress and Wellbeing, Thinking Card Strategies, and How the Brain Works. They were treated to an afternoon with Mohammed Nawaz from Learning Performance in which they learned the difference between Study and Revision, and, with billions of neurons in our brains, there is no such thing as a good or bad memory!
The day was a great boost in helping our Year 10s succeed in, and cope with, the important GCSE year ahead. We hope you received some great techniques to help you on your way!
