Our Under 13 Cricketers could be one in 5000!

Our team started the year as 2016 Cheshire champions and gained third place in the Under 13 Northern Indoor finals at the end of April. They then turned their attention outdoors where, over two legs, they became Wirral Under 13 champions, qualifying once again for the 2017 Cheshire finals in Warrington.

This year they finished runners-up, beating teams from Northwich and Macclesfield but beaten by Cheadle Hulme High School. However, they still qualified for the Northern finals, planned to take place in Barnsley this July. Unfortunately, their trip was halted due to rain on the morning of departure.

To progress the competition to national level, a draw took place – by Women’s England Cricket captain Charlotte Edwards – and Prenton High School’s name came out of the hat!

It means they are now one of the last four teams in the country competing for the National title.

They will be heading to Loughborough National Cricket Performance Centre (where the England team train) on September 7 for the tournament – many congratulations to Freya (Captain), Lily, Cora, Jess, Amy, Eloise, Lily and Kiera, some of whom are pictured here.

Our team will be training hard for the big day – good luck in September everyone!
