Our New Appointment in National Apprenticeship Week

We have a special reason to celebrate National Apprentice Week with the appointment of Miss Birss, who has joined our IT team.

Her joining us could be described as a ‘homecoming’, as Miss Birss was a student here before taking an Art and Design course at Liverpool Community College. She then gained her degree in Photography at Manchester Metropolitan University, undertaking projects relating to Media, Magazine Imagery, and Collage, amongst others. Miss Birss’ degree show won her the prestigious AON Award with her tutor selecting one of her works to take to an exposition in China as an example of the excellent work produced at the University.

In starting her apprenticeship at Prenton High School, Miss Birss, who applied for the role through 3aaa Apprenticeships, will gain the work experience that most employers seek, gain a further qualification – and bring some new ideas and expertise to the school.

Miss Birss is pictured her with some of the work from her portfolio, and with Paul Martin from Wirral Met College and a representative of the National Apprenticeship Service. Paul delivered a Year 10 assembly giving the options that an apprenticeship offers and the choices open to those who decide on an apprenticeship.

Welcome back to Prenton!
