Early 2014 saw the introduction of IRIS which stands for ‘It Really is Simple’. The programme enables staff to reward and to celebrate positive student behaviour. It also allows staff to identify poor behaviour and to deal appropriately with the student or students.
Those students who demonstrate positive behaviour can collect their rewards and use them to purchase goods in the IRIS shop. Our IRIS shop was launched in January 2015 and stocks a range of products and gifts for students.
Students are also awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards in Celebration Assemblies when they have an accumulation of rewards. We also celebrate winning forms and individuals in assembly each week to ensure the students know that positive behaviour choices are recognised and awarded.
Within school, we publish details of those students who are currently earning the most rewards by displaying an IRIS leader board. We want students to recognise that positive behaviour is very much valued within school and rewarded.
