Aiming High for University

Thirteen Year 11 students have joined Mrs Fraser, Deputy Headteacher, and Mr Taylor, LRB Manager, to a PiXL Conference at the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, The Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.

‘Getting into the Top Universities’, led by PiXL 6’s Peter Rawling, was aimed at providing information, inspiration, and advice on the different courses universities offer, applicants’ skills they look for, and how students can best prepare themselves for gaining a place in any one of the UK’s top universities. A session from Freddie Warner of King’s College London gave the audience information about the University and a picture of what they can expect life to be like at a top major-city university.

As one students afterwards commented: ‘It was a really useful morning with lots of good information for me to think about.’
